The Commission published its 2025 DMA Annual Report, covering: two non-compliance fines (Apple for anti-steering, Meta for data-use restrictions); conclusion of connected-device interoperability proceedings; three new cloud-sector investigations (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, DMA cloud effectiveness); and a new non-compliance investigation into Google for allegedly demoting media publishers in Search. The Article 53 review required by May 2026 is complete.

Riksdag (Swedish Parliament) | 25 May 2026The Riksdag voted to approve Proposition 2025/26:150, allowing the Swedish Police Authority and SÄPO to use AI for real-time facial recognition in public spaces from 1 July 2026. Use is restricted to locating victims of kidnapping or trafficking, preventing imminent serious crime, or investigating crimes carrying ≥4 years imprisonment. Prior prosecutor or court approval is mandatory. IMY will be the supervisory authority. The Left Party, Centre Party and Greens filed reservations.
